OAKLAND – University of California officials say they're expecting their largest freshman class ever this fall.
More than half of the freshmen who've been offered a place at one of the system's nine undergraduate campuses say they will attend.
Figures released Wednesday show more than 38,000 students indicate they will enroll. That's out of the record 60,008 California residents offered admission earlier this year.
Susan Wilbur, UC's director of undergraduate admissions, says all of the campuses met their enrollment goals.
Meanwhile, UC has admitted more than 17,000 transfer students from California community colleges.
