SAN DIEGO – The Lake Murray Fourth of July Music Fest & Fireworks show will go on despite a money shortage, event organizers said yesterday.
“We're contractually obligated,” said John Pilch, chairman of the event.
The festival, which costs about $42,000 to put together this year, is about $3,000 short, he said.
Organizers plan to raise funds up to and during the event to make budget.
The festival, which is free, will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a fireworks show starting at 9:15 p.m.
Five bands will be featured at the festival, which will include several food and drink vendors.
