Beth Barber
Beth Barber is an editorial writer for the Union-Tribune. A native Virginian, she has a degree in international relations from the University of Virginia. She specializes in law, social issues and county government.

She was an award-winning editorial writer and opinion-page editor for the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch and the (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot , then joined the editorial board of the Plain Dealer in Clevland to write editorials and columns.

Moving to sunshine in 2002, she was briefly editor of the editorial page of the Press-Journal, one of Scripps Howard's Treasure Coast (Fla.) newspapers before joining the Union-Tribune as an editorial writer and letters editor in 2003.

Beth lives in east San Diego with two of the world's greatest mutts.
