Sports letters: WHERE'S TED WIILLAMS?: As a result of the revealing Padres article on “Fuson's pipeline making progress” written by Tim Sullivan, I submit the following observations:

Letters to the editor: Regarding “A Year Later: Tears and Fears” (A1, Oct. 10): The stock market is in a free fall because there is a crisis of confidence in our government. George W. Bush attempting to fool the American people out of the problems we face with open-the-purse-strings tactics isn't fooling anybody. The bailout is a big mistake, and the American people know it.

Letters to the editor: Mixed views greet disabled-access law Regarding “Merchants hail law curbing disabled-access lawsuits” (Our Region, Oct. 9):

Letters to the editor: Scorecards on the McCain-Obama debate Regarding “Economic concerns dominate in town hall-style showdown” (A1, Oct. 8):

Letters to the editor: Liking the players and their programs – or not I just read the Oct. 4 Union-Tribune and was surprised and irked by the negative comments about Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

Letters to the editor: Picking on property owners Why are only the owners of private property charged a tax increase to pay for bonds? As a property owner since 1972, I find it extremely frustrating that every time the politicians or special-interest groups want money for a project they want to charge property owners for its cost.

Letters to the editor: It's more than a'small public park' Regarding “Horton Plaza makeover” (A1, Oct. 1):

Letters to the editor: Searching for the real John McCain Regarding “Thinking about the real John McCain” (Opinion, Sept. 27):

Letters to the editor: Casting opinions on the VP debate Regarding “Focused Biden, folksy Palin battle for Main Street turf” (A1, Oct. 3):

Letters to the editor: Rejecting any defense of earmarks Regarding “Just why are those earmarks so bad?” (Opinion, Oct. 2):

Letters to the editor: Partisan politics and the bailout Regarding “Pointing fingers will not resolve problem” (Editorial, Sept. 30):

Letters to the editor: The returns on the House vote Regarding “Markets in Turmoil” (A1, Sept. 30): Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank and the Democrats are making a big deal about 12 Republican votes stopping the $700 billion bailout plan. The vote of 228-205 to reject the bill, if my math is right, sounds like there were a lot more than 12 votes rejecting the bill.

Letters to the editor: The Dow Jones' 777-point plunge Regarding “Record plunge for Dow Jones” (SignOnSanDiego, Sept. 29):

Letters to the editor: Financial 'geniuses' should be free to go Regarding “Placing blame for financial crisis” (Opinion, Sept. 26):

Letters to the editor: Regarding “Notify parents/Proposition 4 responds to critics' objection” (Editorial, Sept. 23):

Local Letters: South Edition: Bike riders at risk from their own actions “Saving gas but fueling danger” (Sept. 22) properly identifies the risk bicyclists pose to themselves and others by their dangerous operating habits.

Local Letters: East Edition: Making the case for Grossmont Union bonds In response to the Sept. 20 letter by Mike Benrooks titled “Raising some objections to Grossmont school bond”:

Letters to the editor: Taking stock of bailout efforts A $700 billion bailout?

Local Letters: City Edition: The ultimate culprit for SEDC mess: city's CEO Regarding “How things went wrong at SEDC, a primer” and “How to make things right at SEDC: 33 recommendations” (Editorial, DialogSD, Sept. 20):

Letters to the editor: President's urging of bailout approval Regarding “Bush pushes bailout plan” (A1, Sept. 25):

Letters to the editor: Abortion and underage girls Regarding “Notify parents/Proposition 4 responds to critics' objection” (Editorial, Sept. 23):

Letters to the editor: Bailout a hard sell Stringent oversight of the program is a must, and specific relief for troubled homeowners must be provided. In many cases they are in trouble because the loan agents did do their part correctly – they just wanted the commission.

Letters to the editor: Lenders are creating the 'addiction' “Americans' addiction to borrowing led to crisis” (A1, Sept. 21) places the blame for the financial crisis on the borrowers. The blame should instead be placed on the financial institutions and their representatives that made no-documentation loans, 120-percent of value loans and/or gave adjustable rate mortgages to those who were in no financial position repay them.

Letters to the editor: 'Paralysis by analysis' threatens new City Hall Regarding “DeMaio questions plans for City Hall” (Our Region, Sept. 19):
