FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A judge allowed Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Matt Jones to enter a drug treatment program Monday after being arrested on a cocaine charge earlier this year.

The decision by Washington County Circuit Judge Mary Ann Gunn means the former Arkansas quarterback could have his charge dismissed if he completes the treatment.

Jones was arrested July 10 when a Fayetteville police officer saw him inside a car allegedly cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

Jones still could be suspended by the NFL under the league's substance-abuse policy. First-time offenders are subject to suspensions ranging from one to four games.
