WELL DONE: Put a fork in the Raiders, they are well done. Martyball gets CPR, is still alive. Raiders fans, Halloween is over. Chargers win.
DAVID ALSMAN, Spring Valley
EVERY BODY: The Raiders have some superstars in their franchise. The Chargers have a team. LT needs a break – put in Michael Turner. They're covering Antonio Gates, throw it to Keenan McCardell or Eric Parker. Clinton Hart picks a pass, everybody throws a block. Heck, even special teams did a good job. This team is jellin' at just the right time. Bring on Ricky Williams.
PAUL LANDRY, San Diego
EMBARRASSING: From start to finish, the Chargers played an excellent game on both sides of the ball to keep the playoff hopes alive. The win was great, but it was absolutely awesome to see thousands of Raiders fans go home with another embarrassing defeat. The taste of victory cannot get any sweeter than this.
ANTHONY BALAGUER, Chula Vista
STEPPING UP: Nice win. Martyball will work against these Raiders. But the Chargers need to step it up to continue their run at the postseason. Some suggestions: If the Chargers can't kick it to the goal line, go with the short kick USC used against UCLA instead of the high floater. Bring the DBs up tighter – no more 10-yard cushion. And the next time the Chargers see a future NFL star in Aztecs red and black, like Kirk Morrison, let's try like heck to draft him. Get better soon LT, hope you're OK.
MARK ROGERS, Encinitas
TEAM EFFORT: The Chargers defined the term "total team effort." No standout hero of the game, just a great job by everyone in what was truly a total team effort. Raider Nation has been overrun and stampeded into obscurity. Dandy Don sang it best: "Turn out the lights, the party's over" (for the Raiders).
RICHARD ANAYA, San Diego
