LOCAL UPDATE: NORTH EDITION
2 injured when car hits dentist's office

January 4, 2006

VISTA – Two people were hospitalized with minor injuries yesterday when a car veered off Escondido Avenue and slammed into a dentist's office.

The Buick Regal narrowly missed a tree before crashing into a natural gas pipe at the office of Dr. Patrick M. Tanner about 12:20 p.m.

The crash closed the dentist's office and one lane of eastbound Escondido Avenue near South Santa Fe Avenue for more than two hours, authorities said.

No one else was injured. The building was evacuated while an SDG&E crew capped the leaking pipe.
