OCEANSIDE – Police arrested three men yesterday suspected of snatching a woman's purse while she walked on Brooks Street, Oceanside police said.

The 64-year-old victim told officers that three men ripped her handbag from her shoulder and ran into a canyon near Country Club Lane about 10 a.m., Sgt. Leonard Mata said. She was uninjured.

Officers surrounded the canyon and arrested three men hiding in the brush a short time later. The woman's purse was recovered, Mata said.
