Most North County trash-collection services offer curbside pickup of Christmas trees on regular collection days.
Unflocked trees, cut into sections less than 4 feet long and 18 inches in diameter, can be placed with other green waste. Ornaments, tinsel, tree stands and nails must be removed. No plastic bags or string should be used to wrap trees. Tree sections should not weigh more than 50 pounds.
Flocked trees should go into the regular trash can, unless otherwise noted.
In addition, many areas also have drop-off sites where trees can be taken for recycling.
