North County Egg Hunts

Carlsbad

Carlsbad
Spring festival: The Eggstravaganza Spring Festival & Egg Hunt will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Poinsettia Community Park, Turnstone Road and Hidden Valley Road, Carlsbad. Live music, arts and crafts, a climbing wall, fun jumps and food vendors are part of this event for youngsters 10 and younger. Bring a basket or make one at the event. Activity cards: $5. Egg hunt: Activities will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, 5620 Paseo del Norte, Carlsbad. Bring a camera for pictures with the Easter Bunny. Recommended for children 12 and younger. Bags and treasure maps will be distributed. (760) 804-9000.

Carmel Mountain
Crafts and eggs: The Carmel Mountain Ranch Egg Hunt offers youth craft projects and one picture with the Easter Bunny for free. Extra pictures: $2. Refreshments will be served. Encinitas
Spring eggstravaganza: The city of Encinitas Spring Egg Hunt will features kids' crafts, prizes and face painting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Egg hunts begin at 10:15 a.m. and are divided by age groups. Ecke Sports Park, 278 Saxony Road, Encinitas. (760) 633-2740.

Egg hunts: The Seaside Church of Religious Science, 1613 Lake Drive, Encinitas, will host hunts following the services that begin at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. (760) 753-5786 or www.seasidechurch.org.

Escondido
Grape Day Park: Life Christian Church will offer activities for youngsters after a 10:30 a.m. service at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Churchgoers will get preferred admission to the egg hunt. Register from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. to hunt for eggs filled with prizes and candy. Easter Bunny photos: $5 for two pictures. The hunt will be from noon to 12:30 p.m. Sunday for children ages 2 to 10 at Grape Day Park, 321 N. Broadway, Escondido. Free. (760) 480-6233.

Fallbrook
Pancakes and eggs: The Fallbrook Firefighters Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt will be at the Fallbrook Community Center at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Breakfast will be served until 10 a.m., followed by an egg hunt. Cost: $2 to $3.50. Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane, Fallbrook. (760) 728-1671.

Oceanside
Hunt in the park: The annual egg hunt will be divided by three age divisions and begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buddy Todd Park, Mesa Drive and Parnassus Circle, Oceanside. (760) 435-5540.

Find 4,000 eggs: The Eastside United Community Action group has collaborated with the city of Oceanside to present the annual Easter Egg Hunt. More than 4,000 candy-filled eggs will be hidden at Joe Balderrama Park, 709 San Diego St., Oceanside. The hunt will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for children 12 and younger. Only youngsters are allowed in the hunt areas, which consists of four enclosed areas, one for each age group. Free. (760) 439-9831.

Poway
Celebrate spring: Start the Springtime Celebration Egg Hunt with a pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Cost: $3. Egg hunts for ages 8 and younger are at 9:30 a.m. and divided by age groups. Ramona
Backcountry hunt: Meet the Easter Bunny at the Ramona Easter Egg Hunt. Hunts for treat-filled eggs will be divided by age groups beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dos Picos Regional Park, 17953 Dos Picos Park Road, Ramona. Cost: $1. Parking: $2. (760) 789-2220.

Rancho Peñasquitos
Eggcellent options: Four Rancho Peñasquitos parks will offer egg hunts for youngsters ages 11 and younger beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. San Marcos
Breakfast with bunnies: Have breakfast with Peter Cottontail from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at The Barn in Walnut Grove Park, Olive Street and Sycamore Drive, San Marcos. Bunny helpers will prepare pancakes with sausage. Drawings for prizes are part of the event. Cost: $2.50 to $3.50. At 10:15 a.m., youngsters through fifth grade may participate in an egg hunt. Vista
