Man shot 6 times at house party

June 11, 2006

LEMON GROVE – An argument ended in violence when one man was shot at least six times at a party late Friday, the Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies went to a house on Skyline Drive near Canton Drive in Lemon Grove about 10:20 p.m. after people reported hearing gunshots. Deputies were told that three men were arguing in the street before shots were fired.

One man suffered at least six gunshot wounds from his thigh to his shoulder before the other two men ran away, deputies said.

The man was taken to a hospital, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, authorities said. No arrests were made.

Robber takes $300 from gas station

CITY HEIGHTS – Police were investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in City Heights late Friday.

The robber walked into a Texaco on Fairmount Avenue shortly after 11 p.m., showed a gun and demanded cash, San Diego police said.

Police said the man got away with about $300.

A detailed description of the robber was not available.

Man shot in leg during gang fight

LOGAN HEIGHTS – A man was shot in the leg early yesterday during a gang fight, San Diego police said.

The victim had fought another man on South 33rd Street near Greely Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. The other man then returned with some friends and the victim was shot. The victim was taken to a hospital. No arrests were made.

Robbers strike at Hacienda Motel

ESCONDIDO – Two men robbed a motel at gunpoint Friday night, police said.

A clerk at the Hacienda Motel on North Broadway near Park Avenue told officers that the robbers were carrying guns and entered the motel just before 10 p.m.

They got away with an undisclosed amount, Escondido police said.

Burglar threatens car owner with gun

ESCONDIDO – A car burglar pulled a gun on a man early yesterday after the man confronted the burglar for breaking into his vehicle, Escondido police said.

The victim was awakened by his car alarm about 4:45 a.m. When he walked out of his North Date Street home, he found a man taking stereo equipment from his car, Escondido police Lt. Mark Wrisley said. The thief pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot the man when he was confronted.

The robber then ran off. A detailed description was not available.

2 found wounded near Marine base

OCEANSIDE – Two men were shot early yesterday morning near the back gate of Camp Pendleton in what police said was possibly a gang-related incident.

Both victims were expected to survive their wounds.

The shooting happened about 1 a.m. on Arthur Avenue, near North River Road, Oceanside police Sgt. Leonard Mata said.

When officers arrived to investigate reports of shots fired, they found the men lying in the road.

The victims, ages 23 and 24, were taken to hospitals.

Mata said the victims, both Oceanside residents, had been standing in front of a house when several men in a sedan drove up. Words were exchanged between the victims and the men in the sedan and then gunfire erupted.
