MIRA MESA – An active-duty servicewoman was found dead yesterday, apparently shot by her husband, who then killed himself, authorities said.
They were identified by a medical examiner's investigator as Nikole Renee Aman, 23, and Jared Daniel Turner, 27. They were found in their Camino Ruiz apartment about 10:50 a.m.
Police were asked to check on Aman's welfare after she failed to show up for work, said homicide unit Lt. Kevin Rooney. He said it appeared, based on the injuries and position of the bodies, that Turner had shot Aman and then himself.
The medical examiner's investigator said she didn't know in what branch of the military Aman served. Turner was listed as unemployed.
