1992: Bay Area Democrats Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer won their dual races for the U.S. Senate, giving California the first two-woman delegation in the history of the Senate. Also on this day, Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton was elected the 42nd president of the United States.
