San Diego Chargers played key roles in the “Hunt To Cure Huntington's Disease” the other night at Neiman Marcus.
Susie and Dean Spanos were there, and so were their sons, A.G. and John Spanos.
Other members of the Chargers' family in the crowd included Pat and Marty Schottenheimer, Beverly and James Lofton, Nicole and Keenan McCardell, Tiffany and Philip Rivers, Alicia and Quentin Jammer, Nadia and Eric Parker, Kris Dielman, Mike Goff, Kassim Osgood, Florence Drayton, Jill and Jim Steeg, and Ramona and Bill Johnston with their daughter, Hayley Johnston, and her escort, Jacob Pruitt.
Jill Faucher and Anne Rauch co-chaired the gala. Husbands Todd Faucher and Mike Rauch accompanied their wives.
This year's “Hunt To Cure HD” attracted more than 400 patrons and netted $114,771 for HD care and research.
(For those of you not familiar with Huntington's disease, it's a degenerative and fatal brain disease for which there is, as yet, no effective treatment or cure. It diminishes the ability to walk, talk and reason. More than a quarter million Americans now have it or are at risk of inheriting it.)
Some of the others at Neiman's were Cheryl Kendrick, Bob Breitbard, Jack Berkman, Steve Carrizozsa, LaVonne and Paul Cashman, Dr. Jody Corey-Bloom, Colby and Brian Arrington, Karin and Mike August, Kim Ayers, and Mary and Scott Clifton.
Still more were Mary Curran, Myrna Marston, Shirley and Dr. Dick Gilbert, Drew Schlosberg, Julie and Matt Schrady, Allan Shaw, Teri and Ron Simas, Mary and John Still, Coleen and Ed Trimble, Dinisa Valadao, and Jennifer and Steve Redfearn.
Guests roamed the three-level specialty store in Fashion Valley, sampling party fare provided by the city's best restaurants and following clues to the whereabouts of prizes.
Kathleen Bade of KFMB/Channel 8 was the mistress of ceremonies.
There were live and silent auctions, too, and Linda Pedley was the top bidder for a pair of tickets to the 2007 Super Bowl in Miami.
