The Giants, who Friday signed outfielder/leadoff man Dave Roberts, are also close to announcing a two-year deal with infielder Rich Aurilia that will be worth just over $7 million.
Aurilia was taking a physical yesterday, GM Brian Sabean said, and the deal was expected to be announced after some final details were worked out.
Aurilia, 35, played for the Giants for his first nine major league seasons from 1995-2003, helping San Francisco to the 2002 World Series. After playing part of 2004 with the Padres, he spent the last two seasons with the Cincinnati Reds. He batted .300 with 23 home runs and 70 RBI in 440 at-bats in 2006.

ORIOLES: First baseman Kevin Millar re-signed, agreeing to a one-year $2.75 million contract with an option for 2008. He hit .272 with 15 home runs and 64 RBI in 132 games in his first season with the Orioles and was second on the team with a .374 on-base percentage.
MARINERS: Free-agent outfielder Jose Guillen is close to agreement on a $5.5 million, one-year contract. A person familiar with the talks, speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been finalized, said the agreement was expected to be finalized after Guillen completes a physical with the team tomorrow.
