A story on political campaign spending that ran Friday incorrectly said the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's political committee spent $40,436 to pass Proposition D, a city-sponsored measure to preserve open space along Cannon Road. In fact, the chamber's committee spent that amount to defeat Proposition E, a rival measure that would have preserved the land as agriculture.
