What: Six-team college softball tournament
When: Today through Sunday
Where: SDSU Softball Stadium
Overview: San Diego State begins its season today against No. 6 Oregon State in this annual tournament, named for former SDSU softball players Suzanne Campbell and Karin Cartier, who were killed in a 1991 auto accident in Mexico. This year's field features six teams that advanced to postseason play last year. Five of those teams are ranked or received votes in the polling. The defending Mountain West Conference champion Aztecs earned consideration in both polls, thanks largely to sophomore All-American Erin Floros (Mt. Carmel) and MWC Pitcher of the Year Christina Ross.
