GLADYS MAXINE BAIRD

Gladys Maxine Baird, 87, of La Mesa died May 11. She was born in Kansas City, Kan., and was an administrative assistant. She was a member of Friends of the La Mesa Library and La Mesa Adult Enrichment.

Survivors include her daughters, Melinda Doud of Quebec and Sara Baird of La Mesa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: pending.

Donations: Friends of the La Mesa Library, 8055 University Ave., La Mesa, CA 91941.

LEONA GRACE BUSH

Aug. 10, 1928-May 14, 2007

Leona Grace Bush, 78, of San Diego died May 14. She was born in Scottsbluff, Neb., and was a bookkeeper.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Bush and Richard Bush; brothers, Mel Bookout and Bob Bookout; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services: none announced.

MARY CHAFFEE

Oct. 16, 1915-April 30, 2007

Mary Chaffee, 91, of Vista died April 30. She was born in Detroit.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally Hill; son, James Chaffee; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. June 22, Eternal Hills Mortuary, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside.

Inurnment: after services, Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

IAN CROSS

Nov. 3, 1919-May 15, 2007

Ian Cross, 87, of San Diego died Tuesday. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and was retired from the Royal Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Moose Lodge 2108.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Cross; daughter, Anne Ellis; sons, Ian Cross, Peter Cross and Brian Cross; stepdaughter, Carole Jerd; stepson, Richard Home; and brothers, Alexander Cross, Campbell Cross and Victor Cross. Services: none announced.

Arrangements: American Cremation Service.

JOHN CUNNINGHAM

Jan. 9, 1951-May 13, 2007

John Cunningham, 56, of Oceanside died May 13. He was born in Glendale and was a federal firefighter. He served in the Air Force.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth Cunningham of Oceanside; and brothers, Stephen Cunningham of San Marcos and James Cunningham of Oceanside. Services: none announced.
