An Oceanside man was arrested Thursday after police discovered more than 200 marijuana plants inside his home while investigating the death of his brother, police said.
Todd Zahner brought his brother into the emergency room at Tri-City Medical Center at 9:30 p.m. asking for help, but the man was already dead. He was identified as Rodney Zahner Jr., 38.
There was no evidence of foul play, but police were called to take a report.
The investigation led to the brothers' home on Tyler Street near Monroe Street in the Back Gate area, where officers found the pot plants growing inside.
Todd Zahner was arrested on suspicion of possession, sales and cultivation of marijuana.
An autopsy yesterday was inconclusive and toxicology results are pending, a county Medical Examiner's Office investigator said.
