  • Airfares follow oil prices skyward
    NEW YORK – As if on cue, airlines are responding to oil's latest surge by pushing ticket prices higher. Round-trip domestic fares began rising $10 to $20 late Thursday as crude futures crossed the once-unthinkable $100-a-barrel mark.

    DETROIT – Shares of Ford Motor Co. dropped to their lowest level in 22 years yesterday, one day after 2007 sales figures showed that Toyota had dethroned Ford as the No. 2 auto seller in the United States.
