CECIL L. GARWICK

March 14, 1920-Jan. 1, 2008

Cecil L. Garwick, 87, of Ramona died Tuesday. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and was an accountant in industrial manufacturing. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Tricia Jarrett of Ramona, Sherri Bohlin of San Antonio, Gayle Quillot of Poway and Wendy Dipietrantonio of Escondido; sons, Donald, John and Rex; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mass: has been celebrated.

Interment: after Mass, El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego.

Arrangements: Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary.

ROBERT LYNN GWALTNEY

Oct. 26, 1951-Dec. 7, 2007

Robert Lynn Gwaltney, 56, of El Cajon died Dec. 7. He was born in Carthage, Mo., and was a computer technical-support engineer. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Gwaltney; son, Eric Gwaltney of El Cajon; father, Robert Gwaltney of Washington state; sister, Anne Bergam of Washington state; and brothers, Terry Gwaltney, Dale Gwaltney and Wayne Gwaltney, all of Washington state.

Services: have been held.

Inurnment: Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Cabrillo Memorial Drive, Point Loma.

CHARLES VALENTINE HAMMACK

Oct. 18, 1914-Jan. 2, 2008

Charles Valentine Hammack, 93, of San Diego died Wednesday. He was born in Lancaster, Ohio, and was a retail manager. He served in the Army and was a member of the Elks Club.

Survivors include his daughters, Carol Yavno of Santee and Julie Gorton of Jamul; son, Michael Hammack of El Cajon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

CLARA ISABELLE HAMMACK

Clara Isabelle Hammack, 92, of San Diego died Dec. 20. She was born in Lancaster, Ohio, and was a design consultant for Lesler's Design.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Yavno of Santee and Julie Gorton of Jamul; son, Michael Hammack of El Cajon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

HOWARD RAYMOND HARDIN

Howard Raymond Hardin, 94, of La Mesa died Sunday. He was born in Pulaski, Tenn., and was a quality-assurance inspector for the federal government. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 576.

Survivors include his wife, Lula Belle Hardin; daughter, Linda Lilyquist of El Cajon; sons, Raymond Hardin of San Diego and David Hardin of Alpine; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. today, Salli Lynn Chapel, Greenwood Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego.

Entombment: after services, Greenwood Mausoleum.

JOHN A. HOLCOMBE

Jan. 26, 1930-Dec. 24, 2007

John A. Holcombe, 77, of San Diego died Dec. 24. He was born in Greenville, S.C., and was a surveyor for San Diego Gas & Electric Co. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Leatta Holcombe; daughter, Susan Stilson of Anthem, Ariz.; son, Mark Holcombe of San Diego; and five grandchildren.
