Drive-by shooting kills one, wounds one in Chollas Creek

SAN DIEGO – Police are investigating a shooting yesterday in the Chollas Creek neighborhood that left one man dead and a woman wounded.

The woman, 19, called San Diego police about 3:30 a.m. to report that she and her male friend had been shot.

The man, Sal Hernandez, 27, died.

Information on the woman's wounds was not released.

Police said the two were sitting in a car parked on Seifert Street near 55th Street when a dark, older-model pickup pulled up and someone fired a gun. The pickup then headed west on Seifert Street.
