Noud's 28 points give Tritons big conference victory at RIMAC

The UCSD women's basketball team got all of its points from the Tritons' five starters in UCSD's 75-64 CCAA win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in front of 449 yesterday at RIMAC Arena.

Meaghan Noud led the Tritons (19-7, 11-5) with 28 points while Alexis Gaskin and Erin Noonan added 14 points apiece, Michelle Osier had 13 points plus 11 rebounds and Alexis Mezzetta scored six points with seven assists against the Toros (12-11, 6-10).

More women's basketball

Five Gonzaga players scored in double figures as the Bulldogs halted USD's four-game winning streak in Gonzaga's 76-60 win yesterday over the Toreros in a West Coast Conference game at Spokane, Wash.

Heather Bowman had 19 points to lead Gonzaga (19-7, 10-1) with Courtney Vandersloot and Tiffanie Shives each adding 14 points. Morgan Henderson scored 17 points and Amanda Rego added 13 for the Toreros (13-11, 4-6), who were down 50-29 at halftime and shot just 35 percent from the floor for the game.

Baseball

UCSD split a doubleheader with visiting Barry, winning 12-4 before falling 4-2 in the nightcap. Trevor Decker (2-0) and Kirby St. John teamed up to seven-hit Barry while the Tritons scored in every inning but two. Chris Franco and Evan Kehoe both had two hits, including homers for UCSD (9-3) in the first game. Kehoe had three hits in the nightcap against Barry (6-4).

Softball

SDSU cranked out 10 hits in a 2-0 win over Tulsa at the Campbell/Cartier Classic at the SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs also beat Fresno State 3-2 while UC Santa Barbara beat Indiana 5-0, Utah State beat Indiana 6-5 and Fresno State shut out UCSB 8-0 in other tournament games.

Women's water polo

SDSU won three games at the Princeton Invitational, beating Michigan 10-9, Bucknell 13-8 and Princeton 11-6.
