Delight in the details

Look for these special touches during SOHO's historic homes tour

STAFF WRITER

Shuffling through five historic houses on the Save Our Heritage Organisation's (SOHO) home tour through Mission Hills next Sunday, visitors should mind the details. Featured are two Craftsman-style homes, two Spanish Colonial Revival residences and one Pueblo Revival house. Their varying architectural details, mix of construction materials and room layouts give each home its character and place it in its proper historic context.

      Branching out

Head to Balboa Park 11 a.m. Tuesday for a tree planting to celebrate Arbor Day. You can help plant or just watch. Congregate at the War Memorial Building Lawn on Park Boulevard.
