UCSD won the California Collegiate Athletic Association title with a 64-56 victory over Cal Poly Pomona at San Bernardino, guaranteeing the Tritons (18-11) a spot in their first NCAA Division II Tournament. Henry Patterson, the CCAA tournament's Most Valuable Player, had 17 points to lead UCSD while Jordan Lawley had 14 points and Darryl Lawlor added 11 points with 10 rebounds against Cal Poly Pomona (13-15). “We've had great senior leadership all year long,” UCSD head coach Chris Carlson said, “and it showed in the performances of Clint Allard (11 points), Andrew Hatch and Henry Patterson.”
