Project documents
available for review
SAN MARCOS: Draft environmental documents for a proposed project on 87 acres near California State University San Marcos are now available for public review.
Developer H.G. Fenton is proposing a mix of office and medical-related buildings on the site. It had previously wanted to build a business park and hundreds of condominiums, but that plan was scrapped.
The developer would have to complete road improvements, both through the site and off it. The parcel is in the central part of the city.
The anticipated environmental issues include traffic, noise, biological resources, land use, air quality, geology and soils.
The documents are available on the city's Web site, www.san-marcos.net, under the Development Services Department's Planning Division. They are also available at City Hall, 1 Civic Center Drive, and at the San Marcos library, 2 Civic Center Drive.
Written comments must by submitted to the city no later than May 26. Questions should be directed to Garth Koller, principal planner, at (760) 744-1050, ext. 3231.
