The headline with a brief item on Page A2 yesterday referring to a story on how nursing homes spent higher Medi-Cal reimbursements was incorrect in saying that nursing homes were found to be mismanaging funds. A report found that nursing homes had increased profits, spent more on administration and made little headway in expanding staff or improving patient services after receiving the higher reimbursements, but the report did not describe that as mismanagement.
