The San Diego Union-Tribune

Pet of the Week: City Edition

April 12, 2008

Hunter

Animal: Shepherd mix. Identification number: 19132

Where: San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, 5500 Gaines St., Mission Valley

Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Adoption fee: $100

Color: black and white

Age: 3 years

Sex: Female

With one ear pointed to the sky and the other to the ground, this fun-loving shepherd mix will keep her new owners laughing with her goofy yet adorable looks and silly antics. Hunter's favorite activities include going for walks, playing with her toys and rolling over for belly rubs. While Hunter enjoys belly rubs, she has shown that she's uncomfortable with other types of handling (many dogs do not enjoy being hugged, restrained, etc.) and therefore she'll do best in an adults-only home. Hunter will also do best in a home without cats.

If you're looking for an outgoing, energetic and affectionate dog to be a cherished member of your family, Hunter could be the perfect canine companion.

Hunter's adoption fee includes a consultation with a Humane Society behavior trainer regarding her handling preferences, as well as her spaying, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, 30 days of free veterinary insurance and a certificate for a free veterinary exam.
