KSWB names its news director
Soon-to-be local Fox affiliate KSWB/Channel 69 (Cable 5) has announced the appointment of Rich Goldner as news director. A former news director at KTLA in Los Angeles, Goldner will oversee the creation of the station's new four-hour “Fox Morning News” broadcast and the hour-long “Fox 5 News at Ten,” both of which will air in high-definition. The news shows are expected to debut Aug. 1, when KSWB swaps its CW lineup for Fox programming. There is no word yet on where such CW programs as “Gossip Girl” and “America's Next Top Model” will turn up, or what current Fox affiliate XETV/Channel 6 will be airing come Aug. 1.
