The San Diego Union-Tribune

AL Chatter

May 30, 2008

NOTABLE

Tampa Bay closer Troy Percival was put on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Texas activated Kevin Millwood (strained groin) from the 15-day DL.

BY THE NUMBERS

17Season-high hits for the Blue Jays, at Oakland.

12White Sox victories in their past 15 games.

WHO'S HOT

Rod Barajas

Catcher hits three doubles and drives in three runs to lead Toronto to victory at Oakland. Barajas had four doubles all season coming into the game. He has 15 career doubles against the A's, his most against any opponent.

WHO'S NOT

Luke Hochevar

The Royals starter goes 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Twins, giving up nine hits and five runs, with three walks. The Royals have lost 11 straight, and the hard-luck Hochevar has started three of them, with his team scoring one run for him in that stretch.

QUOTABLE

“Too many babies in here. They don't know how to play the game and how to win games.”

– The Royals' Jose Guillen, whose team is 21-33
