With a spate of hot weather hitting San Diego County recently, senior citizens and others might be looking for a place to cool off. County officials are promoting dozens of designated “cool zone” locations around the region where people can go to find air-conditioned spots this summer. Public library branches, shopping malls, courthouses and other community meeting places are on the county's list, including these in South County:
