The San Diego Union-Tribune

For the record

July 3, 2008

FOR THE RECORD

A correction yesterday incorrectly indicated that single people earning more than $25,000 and married couples making more than $32,000 have their Social Security benefits taxed. It should have said that up to 85 percent of those benefits may be taxed if their combined income from the benefits and other sources is more than $25,000 for single people and more than $32,000 for married couples.

The Union-Tribune regrets the error.

It is the policy of the Union-Tribune to correct all errors. Please contact:

Carol Goodhue, readers representative, (619) 293-1525, or readers.rep@uniontrib.com
