Business gives patrons a place to take out their frustrations

DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO – Mortgage payments. Smash! Gas prices. Boom! Ten-hour workdays. Crash! At Sarah's Smash Shack, a new business in downtown San Diego, everyday frustrations often join the plates, glasses and photo frames patrons pay to hurl against a wall.

      LA JOLLA – At least 13 percent of emergency loans granted through a special program for UC San Diego employees were based in part on fraudulent documents, according to a campus audit that looked at lending over a one-year period.

        3 returned to CCDC; SEDC gets new faces

        SAN DIEGO – One of the city's two troubled redevelopment panels got new board members yesterday, but the other didn't. Four new members of the Southeastern Economic Development Corp. board were confirmed by the San Diego City Council, as Mayor Jerry Sanders moved forward with a housecleaning after the agency's unusual pay and budget practices caused a crisis this summer.

          Children enjoying new playground equipment at Ridgewood Neighbothood Park

          STAFF WRITER

          Ridgewood Neighborhood Park in Rancho Peñasquitos finally has new playground equipment. As Just Fix It wrote in June 2007, the city of San Diego had removed aging equipment in fall 2006 but did not replace it.
