Fox News Channel said late Thursday that popular cable TV host Bill O'Reilly will step down as the host of a syndicated talk radio show early next year.
“The Radio Factor” – which began in 2002 and runs on more than 400 radio stations, as well as satellite operator Sirius XM Radio Inc. – will end in the first quarter of 2009, Fox said. “The Radio Factor” airs in San Diego from 6 to 8 weeknights on KFMB/760 AM.
In a statement, O'Reilly said the workload has become too much. He will continue hosting “The O'Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel and writing his weekly newspaper column.
BOY GEORGE FOUND GUILTY
Former Culture Club front man Boy George was convicted in London yesterday of falsely imprisoning a Norwegian male escort.
Audun Carlsen had alleged he was handcuffed to a wall hook at the singer's east London apartment on April 28, 2007. Prosecutors said Carlsen was held by the singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, for under an hour.
The singer was released on bail and is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 16. False imprisonment carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
However, that sentence is not expected. The judge did warn that some jail time was probable.
CHARGES DROPPED for 'SUGE'
A judge yesterday dismissed drug and battery charges filed against Marion “Suge” Knight, the hip-hop mogul accused of beating a woman in a Las Vegas parking lot in August.
A Clark County spokesman said the District Attorney's Office filed a notice indicating it may try to revive the charges by seeking a grand jury indictment.
